Locations for Filming

To help plan the stages of shooting in my shooting schedule a list of locations will be have to be collected. Initially I want these locations to reflect a conventional village and not to provoke a sense of obscurity. This is because I want the video setting to be plausible to the audience. I think if the setting was far-fetched it may alienate certain groups such as the elderly or young children.

The use of the wide shot will be put into the video a lot. The location of this shot allows the wide shot to be used to it's full potential. The large space stretches around the subject and I can place the character anywhere on the location with little limitation. However this wide space is subjectable to bad weather conditions so taking account for the forecast before filming will be key in my planning schedule. This wide open space means that my shot wont be obsquered by anything apart from clouds which is great as I can get as much natural light as I want.

This location is being considered as it is pleasing on the eye. I think the lines created by the wall, fence and pacvement create the feeling of length and distance which I like because it fits in with the idea of an on going journey the character is onbarking on. Although seemingly narrow, the allyway lets in a lot of natural light which will allow the an obsense of obscurity.

This is another potential location for my music video. In contrast the lighting is obsqured further into the allyway so allows less space to film unless light is reflected from mirrors. Unlike the first allyway location, there appears to be no feel of continuity or encouragement to go deeper into the allyway as the lines are less visable. Because of the excess shade in this location it would obsqure the view of the character and may provoke a menacing atmosphere which I don't want to imply.

I will use a lot of shot's including road's and pavement, the editing between these I hope will give the continued feeling of travelling. This location is exposed so there is no absense of light for my video. On this road there are less cars to interrupt the shot and taking this into account, shooting at a time where a lot of people are still at work will help me.

This location is on the main road of Barton-Le-Clay which may present the problem of passers by looking into the camera and ruining the notion of looking. Nevertheless the road is exposed to light enough to provide the character enough visibility for the camera. The wide space of the main road will allow me to take shots from an array of angles and distances if I choose to do so; however the cars that drive pass may act as blocks. Even so, I could use the cars as a graphical match to switch between shots.

The use of a conventional bedroom will be the start of my music video. I think a more zoomed shot would have captured what I want to film better as I will not take into the shot the green wall. The lighting in this room isn't perfect however the use of an electric light may mix in well with the natural light avaliable to give the sense of early day.

This location provides another example of the type of street I want to include in my video. Through the use the Traffic crossing I can have my character walking towards the camera without provoking a sense of abnormality from the continuity theme. Also I could use an extreme close-up shot of the lights changing to act as a graphical match between this location and another one.

The location of this shot presents a change from the previous locations which suggest the continuity element. I wanted to show a different environment as if the character had reached another place. I initially thought this location would obsqure lighting too much but after going to the scene I was pleased
to see that the enclosed area let in light enough.
