looking more specifically at album covers as a way of promoting an artist; there were certain points that were apparent across the majority of album covers that were successful:
- Keeping to the standard three house colours
- Keeping clear relationships with the music video; links including images and colours
- Connotations and denotations
- Iconography; symbols typical to the artist
- Layout of track listing; including barcodes and record label symbols
- Development of artist star image motif
- An appealing digipack

Magnetic Man is a collaboration of music producers who have recently released their début album of the same name, 'Magnetic Man'. The linking between the album cover and music video to debut single I Need Air (26th July 2010) is predominately created through the idea of darkness. I think by doing this it heavily connotes a club vibe and directly targets it's audience. The typeface incorporates straight lines which anchors the club environment as they reflect neon strobe lighting that would be found at a party. The typeface alone provides a sense of urbanisation and even super natural through the use on sharp serifs and unique way of presenting each character which is not conventional. This typeface has become the star image motif via the 'M' being the image on the CD cover. There is a direct link between this image motif and the use of capturing silhouettes of the crowd as the motif also appears to be obscuring light prevailing through.
